It's okay to remain optimistic about an eventual fix but it's still a good idea to exercise your right as a customer by returning the phone.īut it has been caught before and mentioned quite clear here anyways.Ĭolors shift from pink to blue alternatively with respect to the angle If Google ever gets around to addressing this issue via software/firmware update, then that's great! You can always buy back the phone later if fixes are successful! But what you don't want is to be stuck waiting for an update that Google agrees exists but underdelivers the proposed solution. If we collectively want to force Google into any action here, we need to upvote the official reported issue here and also leave comments that mention returning your phone. Ultimately, I decided to return the phone before my return window ends and I'll explain why I suggest you all should do the same. It's unfortunate early YouTube reviewers didn't catch on to the issue and pressure Google into action via bad reviews so it's up to us to accomplish this ourselves. But I'd be willing to bet that even non-enthusiasts would agree there's a problem when presented with actual side-by-side comparisons like this one and this one and this one. Keep in mind that this display issue will likely never be noticed by non-enthusiasts because they're not the type to pick up their phone and compare displays across devices. The general consensus back then however was that the display was a general weakness in what was otherwise a great phone release. Eventually, Google addressed concerns and delivered a combination of software updates to the 2XL as well as offered to replace units from customers who complained. This isn't very different from display issues that were encountered when Pixel 2XL was originally rolled out. It's becoming clearer and clearer everyday that this issue is not isolated to bad batches and is likely affecting all Pixel 7/7 Pros.
